I have said several times before that DragSox is a great training tool not only for swimmers but also for runners, triathletes and anyone who is interested in cross training. It’s especially good for water running.
To put money where my mouth is, I decided to register for the San Francisco Marathon which takes place on July 31st, 2011. However, I am going to prepare for it by doing most of my training as water running with DragSox. I decided that each week four out of five runs (4/5) will be done as water running with DragSox in the pool and only one as a road run.
As of today I have only done a couple of water running sets, so I am basically starting from zero. I am going to post most of my workouts here, so you can see what I am doing. It will be an interesting experiment.
Can water running with DragSox prepare you for a marathon? We will know the answer on July 31st, 2011.
